Tips for Choosing A Tattoo That’s Just Perfect for You

There are literally millions of different tattoo designs to choose from; the number grows daily, and some tattoo designers spend their entire working lives dreaming up new designs, so you’re never going to be spoiled for choice.

That means most people entering a tattoo parlor are completely overwhelmed by the sheer choice of designs available even where they have a definite theme in mind. So if you choose an angel design, or a biker, or a bird, you’re still likely to have many thousands of different designs to choose from. Just how do you choose, and how can you be sure not to regret your choice?

TIP # 1

Choose a tattoo artist who personally helps you choose your design and also takes you through the pros and cons of individual designs. You’ll want to know how long each tattoo will take, for example, and whether any are likely to be more painful than others.

TIP #2

You should avoid currently trendy designs which might be out of fashion next week. It’s best to choose a design that’s remained popular for at least a decade or so. Because you want a design you’ll be proud to display as much in ten years time as you do right now, it’s not always a good idea to have your current partner’s name inscribed on your body.

TIP # 3

Choose a well qualified and preferably award winning tattooist and ask to see samples of his work. Most parlors keep photographs of past clients and their chosen designs which you can compare against the design in the catalogue or online database. A design that’s completely different to the original is not a sign of a good artist unless the client requested whatever changes. Ask questions of the tattooist if certain photographs are dissimilar to the template from which they were created.
